How does it work?
The work commuter program functions around building taxi-pool groups to reduce the overall expense of travel so that a private "for hire" vehicle becomes an affordable option for commuters. Ideally, we will locate three other commuters near your pick up location who are commuting to a similar destination with similar time requirements. Greencabbies.com affiliate cab drivers will pick up the furthest commuter first, and drop that commuter off last so that commuters further away will pay a larger portion of the cab fare. Costs
The costs associated with the work commuter program depend largely on the size of your group and the distance of the commute. Legally, a taxi cab can hold 4 passengers which means the cost of the ride is divided by as much as four. In addition to splitting the metered fair amongst your taxi-pool group, local businesses contribute subsidies that cut the cost of your ride by up to an additional 40%. You can thank the local business sponsoring your inexpensive carbon neutral commute to work by shopping at their establishment. Your total cost for this service will be the cost of your monthly contribution plus approximately 15% of the metered cab fare, to and from your place of employment.
